Breaking Barriers

From a young age I have always been passionate about education, learning, and personal growth. Some of my interests include, taking care of my plant babies, submerging myself in a good book, exploring coffee shops, and finding ways to live a life true to myself, hoping to inspire others to do the same :). In my free time, I volunteer at multiple STEM events, to inspire the youth to pursue STEM careers, with an emphasis in reaching the communities that need this exposure the most. Growing up in disadvantaged communities and being the first engineer in my family, allowed me to experience first hand the gaps that can exist for students with less resources seeking STEM careers. This motivates me to help bridge that gap for others with similar experiences and aspirations.

Dare to Dream

The field of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) is forecasted to grow in opportunities and job openings in our lifetime. Despite this, many of those positions are not held by Latinas (only 2%).
